Lance Raymond Lewis
February 2, 1943 - July 27, 2025
It is with sadness that the family of Lance Raymond Lewis, 82, of Salem, Virginia, announces his passing on Sunday, July 27, 2025. He was born on Groundhog Day in 1943 in Englewood, New Jersey to Estelle and Raymond Lewis. Lance is survived by his wife, Diane; sister, June; daughter Melinda (Mike); son Wayne (Lisa); grandson Ryan (Kailyn); granddaughter Abigail and grandcat Edsel. Lance was self-employed, working for and then running the Summerell Company with his wife Diane for over 54 years serving the industrial ventilation industry. He enjoyed running, and then in the later years biking and walking on the greenway and a local track with friends. Lance enjoyed family vacations to the beach, watching college football (especially Clemson) and a good craft beer. He enjoyed driving his sports car a present from his wife on non-rainy days only. The family would like to thank all the staff at the Carilion ICU and the 10th floor palliative care unit for all the care they gave Lance in his final days.
The family will have a celebration of Lance's life at a later date.
