Samuel Hanna Karkenny, 88, of Âé¶¹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø, Va., passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on January 10, 1937, in Beirut, Lebanon, Samuel was the beloved husband of Amal for 56 years and a devoted father to his children, Ruba and Ronie.
A master tailor by trade, Samuel was an exceptionally hardworking man. He immigrated to the United States with his young family in 1973, seeking a better life. In Âé¶¹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø, he and his wife Amal founded Master Tailor, a business they built from the ground up and lovingly maintained for over 40 years, earning the respect and gratitude of generations of customers.
Samuel was a man of deep character, strong morals, and unwavering values. He was honest, generous, and completely devoted to his family. He lived a life defined by selflessness-never taking, always giving. His tireless work ethic and dedication to those he loved were a testament to his belief in the strength of family and the importance of building a loving and supportive home.
Samuel is survived by his wife, Amal; his children, Ruba (Wesley) and Ronie (Amy); his cherished grandchildren, Lillie and Teagan; and step grandchildren, Conner and Alek. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers and was the last surviving patriarch of his family.
A visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025, with the funeral services at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025, both at St. Athanasius Syriac Orthodox Church, 2549 Keystone Road, Tarpon Springs, FL 34688.
