Ramona Gloria Simmons of Â鶹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 31, 2025. She was 90 years old.
Ramona was born on October 20, 1934, to the late Ona and Raymond Simmons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Orburn Bloodworth Jr.; and her second husband, Frank Plecity.
Ramona was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Â鶹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø. In addition to her faithful attendance, Ramona also dedicated her time and talents to the First Baptist Church of Â鶹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø Orchestra, blessing both the Lord and her community. Her role as a preschool teacher at Windsor Hills United Methodist church also spoke to her faith and willingness to use her gifts to serve others.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Kimberly Laskey, River Morning, and Michele Bloodworth; her grandchildren, Lauren, Katie, Amanda, Ryan, Riley, and Carys; and her great-grandchildren, Simon and Eleanor.
Her family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2025, in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem, Va. A funeral service will then begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Charlie Krause and Mr. Brett Roach officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Sherwood Memorial Park, also in Salem.
