Four years of anguish in Bedford is finally over. The Liberty High School football team snapped a 37-game losing streak with a massive 50-16 win over William Campbell.
At the forefront of that victory was junior running back Nasear Johnson, who rushed for 289 yards and scored four touchdowns to give the Minutemen their first win since Sept. 10, 2021.Â
Johnson is the Week 1 Âé¶¹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø high school football player of the week, beating out five other candidates in a reader poll. He garnered 35.1% of the vote.

Why do you wear No. 1 on your jersey:Â "I feel like wearing No. 1 made me feel like leader, and people on the field can look up to me. I can motivate a lot of people and push them hard."
Dream vacation:Â "Anything with water. I'll go on a cruise. I like The Bahamas."
Who is someone you look up to:Â "I look up to my parents; being good role models, setting good examples for me, my siblings and everybody else around them. Having a good attitude and always looking out for somebody around you."
What is the best thing to do in Bedford:Â "Playing under the lights on Friday for Liberty. Having a win last Friday was probably the best feeling that I've had in Bedford."
