Glencoe Mansion is hosting the Radford City Public Schools Art Show, which features the artworks of students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
The show is open March 12 through April 27, according to a Glencoe news release.
There is an opening reception Wednesday, March 19, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The event is free to attend and suitable for all ages.

The show features the works of students from Radford High School and John Dalton Intermediate School as well as Belle Heth and McHarg elementary schools. This year’s show features a wide variety of artwork, including drawings and paintings, 3-Dimensional sculptural pieces, and a special black-light installation, according to the release. The young artists are showcasing works that were created in the classroom where they diligently learned about a variety of art movements, styles, and mediums. Works from Radford High School were created under the instruction of Savannah Leeman; Dalton Intermediate School under Kristy Bryant; Belle Heth Elementary under Michelle Saunders; and McHarg Elementary under Tarri Gauck, according to the release.

The student artists of Radford High School have gained various honors for their artwork including exhibition at the Radford University Tyler Gallery as well as awards in the Regional Scholastic Art competition. Under Leeman, students have worked on various projects using a variety of media where she focuses on helping students develop their artistic skills while learning important 21st century skills that will help them find success in the world outside of school.
